Walk, eat and slow down by the sea.
A simple half-day around the Futamigaura coast — seafood, the white torii, a seaside market, tea and a walk towards Palm Beach.
Our Itoshima afternoon
Just follow the coast.
These are the places we actually want. Once we reach Futamigaura, the idea is simply to eat, wander along the beach and stop wherever we feel like lingering.
02 · Seafood lunch
Itoshima Kaisendo · 糸島海鮮堂 二見ヶ浦本店
Have our main meal here. The restaurant faces the Genkai Sea and specialises in seafood bowls made with fresh fish and seafood from the region.
03 · Café
Itoshima Sabo · 糸島茶房
A relaxed wooden seaside café for tea, pancakes or something savoury. If we are already full from seafood, this can simply be our slow coffee-and-dessert stop.
04 · Pop across the road
Zekkei MARKET · 絶景MARKET
This is the “unmanned sea-view shop” we were looking for. It sits opposite Itoshima Sabo and has local goods, snacks and a long window facing straight out to sea.
05 · Beach walk
Palm Beach The Gardens · パームビーチ
Keep walking along the coast towards Palm Beach. There are cafés and little shops around the complex, plus the well-known Angel Wings wall down by the beach. No need to make this another formal attraction — just wander.
The nice part
It becomes a seaside walk.
Futamigaura, the seafood restaurant, Itoshima Sabo, Zekkei MARKET and the Palm Beach area sit along the same coastal stretch. We can park once where practical, then spend part of the afternoon walking beside the sea rather than hopping from attraction to attraction.
Hakozaki → Futamigaura coast → back to Fukuoka
For the overall trip, driving is still easiest. Once we reach this part of the coast, though, the itinerary becomes intentionally simple: torii → seafood → café/market → beach walk → Palm Beach.
